Popular Peterhead recycling enterprise 2ReUse is spreading its wings by taking over management of The Trading Post on the town’s Marischal Street.

Supporting a team of both employees and volunteers, 2ReUse will now operate from both its Berryden Road premises and the town centre outlet where it trades alongside a range of local crafters.

Manager Brenda Campbell is delighted with the addition to the 2ReUse portfolio and is committed to providing premium furniture, pictures and other goods to local shoppers.

Speaking to the Buchanie, Brenda said: “The response from the public since we moved into Marischal Street has been very positive and we are delighted to formally be taking over the running of the shop as a whole.”

“A key aspect of this venture has been ensuring our fantastic range of stock sits well with the crafters’ work and staging a unique, eye-catching sales environment for everyone to enjoy – which I think we have achieved.

“We are especially delighted to introduce a wide range of upcycled items from tables and chairs to cabinets which are proving very popular.”

Profits from 2ReUse sales are channelled back into community projects through parent company Peterhead Projects Limited.

The development has been welcomed by Derek Jennings, chairman of 2ReUse, who said it was evidence of the ongoing success and popularity of the initiative.

He commented: “As our manager Brenda Campbell always reminds people, buying recycled, reused goods doesn’t mean second best – it’s about enjoying quality goods and giving them a new lease of life.

“Together with the many local crafters, traders and photographic club who sell their wares alongside us, 2ReUse bring an extra sales element to the town centre and I would encourage local folk to make best use of this wonderful facility.”
