Susan Strachan and Linda McGee, members of Peterhead Jog Scotland, ran the Edinburgh Marathon recently.
Each was running for their chosen charities -the British Heart Foundation and Breast Cancer Care.
The women have been running buddies for more than four years and after both completing the Loch Ness Marathon last year felt that they wanted to challenge themselves again.
“So was born the idea to run the Edinburgh Marathon for two charities which are close to our hearts,” explained Linda.
“We held a “Cups ‘n’ Cakes” day at Susan’s house which raised £1,017. Thank go to all those who attended on the day and to those who kindly donated home bakes.”
Susan continued: “We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for everyone’s generosity and kindness over the last few months which has helped us raise over £4,000 between the two charities.
“Huge thank you also go to Peterhead Jog Scotland for their support throughout our months of training, especially in the wind, rain, sleet and snow that frequents the North-east!”
