The next meeting of Longside Community Council will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at 7.30pm in Longside Football Club Social Club.

All members of the community are welcome to attend and to have a say in any matters concerning the village of Longside, and the surrounding area.

Normally a representative of the Police force attends, if duties permit, to report on incidents of concern to residents.

In addition to the normal agenda, Steph Swales, Community Planning Officer with Aberdeenshire Council, will attend to give members advice as to measures we can take to combat the nuisance of dog mess.

Although most owners are responsible, picking up and sensibly disposing of it, there is still clearly a problem which has been mentioned more than once at meetings.

Alex Geddes, recently appointed as Social Regeneration Officer with Peterhead Projects Limited, will also attend the meeting.

The Community Council will welcome volunteers to help with projects such as litter-picking, helping with the development of the public areas in the village, such as the garden behind Inn Brae.
