Kerry Short (18) has become a familiar face performing locally during the past year as part of Kerry and the Krusaders.

Along with Davy Legg from Peterhead Music and Rock School, Kerry has undertaken gigs at pubs, clubs and a variety of functions throughout Aberdeenshire.

Kerry, a former student of Peterhead Music and Rock School, and now a singing and dance teacher with the school, refused to sing in public until her mentor, Davy persuaded her to perform at a Rock School concert in July 2011.

Once her first performance was over Kerry realised that she loved to perform and with the mentoring skills of Davy she has continued to grow in confidence and is now ready to go it alone.

Rock School owner Davy said: “Kerry is to continue working the Aberdeenshire circuit - and workign with her students - and has gained a great deal of support from locals as she has become a familiar face having performed at many local galas and several times during Peterhead Scottish Week.”

Kerry will be singing at the Buchanhaven Arts, Crafts and Performing Arts Fair at Buchanhaven Community Centre on Saturday, October 6 with all donations from the event going to the RNLI.
