No ordinary Christmas for Peterhead man

A Blue Toon man has written, recorded and self-published a song described as a modern take on the traditional nativity story.

David Haggath has been writing, recording and performing music for over 20 years in various bands, as a solo artist and now as musical director of a large band at Apex Church.

He released ‘No Ordinary Night’ on Friday, November 20 on iTunes, GooglePlay, Spotify and more music streaming and downloading sites.

It is also available to listen to (for free up to three times) and purchase on David’s BandCamp site, whiteknight7.bandcamp.com.

Mr Haggath wrote the song last year - in his car - ahead of a local event, inspired by the season.

Thrilled by people’s reaction to the song, he decided to record it for this festive season.

Mr Haggath said: “I was asked by the church if I would sing and I didn’t have any new songs so I started writing it in the car and when I got home I recorded it.

“It’s a modern take of the Christmas story.”

David performs all the instrumentation on the song.

The songwriter released a full album earlier this year called ‘Origins’ - an instrumental album inspired by the first chapter of Genesis.
