Following the hugely successful inaugural concert with Aberdeen Sinfonietta String Quartet, Music at Aden continues with a Masterclass Recital with Richard Ingham, Honorary Professor of Jazz Education at St. Andrew’s University, Comite International du Saxophone and Director of XVI World Saxophone Congress.

The concert is to take place on Sunday, June 19, from 3.30pm to 6pm in the Theatre at Aden Country Park.

Four students on various woodwind instruments will participate in a Masterclass led by Richard with prepared pieces, accompanied as appropriate, by Justin Brook on the piano.

The recital after the interval will comprise a selection of movements from two of Richard’s own compositions for Saxophone and Accordion/Piano, Pennan to Pennang and Book of Deer, accompanied by Mary McCarthy on accordion and piano.

This is an exciting opportunity to hear performance enhancements in the making and music played by the composer.

The concert has been designed to tie in with the Midsummer Arts Festival which will also be held in Aden Park on the same day from 11 am to 4 pm. The Festival will offer a wide range of activities including the launch of the Aden

Country Park Public Art Trail and the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum Food, Folk and Land exhibition.

This is likely to be a very popular free event. To ensure your seat, and to avoid disappointment, please reserve your tickets in advance.

Tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis and are available from the Aden Craft and Gift Shop on

01771 623947 or at the theatre door, subject to availability.
