Peterhead’s Fishermen’s Mission will be hosting two popular events over the next month.
The first event is the annual - and very popular - Mission Golf Tournament (which will take a stableford format), to be held at Peterhead Golf Club on Friday, June 6.
Entry for a team of three in this year’s competition is £150, which includes tea/coffee and rolls on arrival and dinner on completion of the course.
All monies raised through this year’s tournament will go towards the work of the Mission to ensure they can continue their efforts to help and support the local fishermen and their families.
The second event is the annual bus trip for retired fishermen from the Peterhead area.
It will take place on Tuesday, June 17.
This year’s trip will be to Elgin, with visits on the way to Buckie and District Fishing Heritage Centre and the Lossiemouth Fisheries and Community Museum.
For those who wish to go along, the cost is £10 per head, which includes lunch and high tea.
To book your seats for the bus run, or to enter your team into the golf competition, call (01779) 472940 or pop into the Mission at 8 Union Street, Peterhead.
Meanwhile, the Mission held a successful fundraiser last week.
There was no need to cook an evening meal on Thursday, when the Mission held an extremely successful Fish & Chips Night.
There were two sittings - one held at 4.30pm with the other at 7pm - and the place was packed with supporters who enjoyed delicious fish and chips, accompanied by bread and butter, and drinks and dessert.
