The marquee is set to make a return to this year’s Scottish Week programme after the committee received help from a local businessman.
The marquee fun will take place from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28, at the Lido.
The Scottish Week Committee were saddened had previously decided to remove the marquee events from the programme due to constraints on the budget and manpower.
However local company Flowtation Music Ltd. approached the gala committee and offered to run the marquee during the week and offer entertainment for all.
Scottish Week Press officer Graham Barron told the Buchanie: “ It was a win, win situation and thanks to David Henderson we will see the return of the marquee.
“Thanks to him and his team taking over total responsibility, we can see the return of popular events while our small hard working committee are not given additional work.”
On the Thursday night there will be entertainment from Flowtation Discos playing a mix of music from the 60s through to today’s chart music. Doors open from 7pm to 12am.
On the Friday night The Reflex 80’s disco with DJDav will be starting things off followed by live music from Eclipse. Door’s open at 7pm with the fun running to 12am. Tickets are £7 each.
On the Saturday night The Time Frequency will be playing live in the marquee.
The legends of dance music return to Peterhead after selling out Nemesis Nightclub back in March.
Warm-up dj’s for this event are Hatton DJ/producer Lee Watson, Deja Vu residents Scott Wallis and Alan Taylor and Nemesis resident Dj Dav. Joining Dav on the decks will be MC Custard. Doors open from 7pm to 12am. Tickets fare £17 each and are selling fast.
On the Sunday afternoon the official Scottish Week darts open will be taking place in the marquee. Entryis £10 and all profits from the event will be donated to the Clan cancer support charity.
