MACBI Hub to celebrate aniversary

The Mintlaw and Central Buchan Initiative (MACBI) will celebrate its Community Hub’s first anniversary with a special Sports Day event next weekend.

The community and sports centre situated on Newlands Road, Mintlaw, opened its doors for the first time on Saturday, April 5.

Children under 12 will also receive a 30 minute soft play voucher for taking part.

One year on, MACBI will hold its first annual Sports Day on Saturday, April 18 to mark the special anniversary.

The day will be split into different age groups and the winner of each group will win a MACBI trophy to keep and will get their name engraved on a MACBI shield.

There will also be lots of activities throughout the day to keep everybody entertained including a traditional Sports Day for all ages, bouncy castle, Monster Slide, zorbes, climbing wall, and ice cream and a Burger Van to keep everyone refreshed.

Special guests Theatre Modo and Belly Dancers will be there too to provide some entertainment.

Sports Day groups and times are as follows:

Age 3-5 and P1-P3: 10am to 12 noon.

P4 to S1: 1pm-2pm.

S2 to adults: 2.30pm to 4pm.

All Sports Day participants must register before Saturday, April 18.

Registration costs £5 per person and includes a MACBI medal for all participants.
