MACBI Community Hub to hold official opening and fun day

The MACBI (Mintlaw and Central Buchan Initiative) Community Hub is to hold its official opening ceremony this weekend.

There will also be a fun day with various activities available for the whole family to enjoy.

The opening event and fun day will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 9am to 5pm.

Sir Albert McQuarrie will be the special guest at the opening ceremony, which is due to be held at 11am.

The community and sports facility, located just off Newlands Road in Mintlaw, opened its doors for the first time on Saturday, April 5 and has proved to be very popular.

Manager Michael Watson said: “The open day will showcase some of the activities that we currently run at the centre throughout the day.

“The taster sessions will be of classes which have been popular over the last six months.

“The opening ceremony will be proceeded by displays from Zumba Kids, and members of the gymnastics class for visitors to enjoy.

“We will have a climbing wall, zorbs, a bouncy castle and our soft play facility will be open too.”

He added: “The tennis courts will be open for those who fancy a free session and there will also be a raffle.”
