Buchanhaven Heritage Society will be staging its latest general exhibition on July 27 between 1-4pm at the Buchanhaven Community Centre with free entry for all.
A mix of old photographs and new artefacts will be available to view combined with the return of the ever popular Betty Bells Sweets and Preserves.
Items ranging from coopers’ tools to Coronation souvenir books from 1953 will take centre stage and a recently found photograph of the former butcher’s shop in Mid Street will be among the collection of photographs.
For those that have not already seen it, Volume I of the history of Buchahaven will be available to browse through and, of course, coffee/tea and fine pieces available throughout the afternoon.
Elizabeth Milne, vice-chair of the group, said: “Following the huge success of our last event we are keen to build on this as demand increases for our events and as we are open on the same day as the Buchanhaven Harbour Committees Gala day think this will be a great family day out for all.
“Our knitting/crochet and art classes are increasing steadily and currently we are working with a range of services from Aberdeenshire Council to accommodate different training classes to benefit the wider community. work on the community action plan continues to move forward with a large number of actions now complete following support from various departments in Aberdeenshire Council and of course from Police Scotland. We hope the 27th will be another successful day not only for the centre, but for the whole area”
