Cheers Bar in Fraserburgh is once again offering a top prize for the best fancy dress costume arriving through the doors at its special Hallowe’en Weekender this weekend.
Last year more than 300 people entered the bar’s Hallowe’en fancy dress competition alone, and it is hoped it will prove just as popular this year.
A top prize of £150 is on offer to the best fancy dress, with a second prize of £100 and third prize of £50.
Photos of all entries will posted on to the bar’s Facebook page as a Hallowe’en album and it will invite everyone to like and share their favourites.
The one with the most likes wins.
Bar owner, Dennis Forsyth, said that there would also be a pumpkin lantern competition this year for children aged 12 years and under.
“We’ve invited them to post photos of themselves with their lanterns to our FB page or email to firstname.lastname@example.org,” he said.
“This is the first year we’ve done this and there will be a first prize is £50 of Toy Master vouchers and a £20 gift voucher to mum and dad for Cheers.
“There are two runner-up prizes of £25 for Toy Master on offer as well.”
This year Cheers is having a bit of fun with the staff, and the Nutty Professor will have released a special chemical turning them into Zombies!
“We’ve make-up special effects to truly go OTT,” said Dennis.
“All ten staff will be involved.
“Our live band ‘Half Cut’ will also be getting in on the theme and will be dressing up also.
“As well as the live band and karaoke we’ll have a Hallowe’en disco in our conservatory plus we have horrendously chilling and spooky sound effects in our outside area, courtesy of a CD I managed to get from the London Dungeon museum!”
To cap the weekend off Cheers’ lunch menu will also have a Hallowe’en theme.
“The graveyard pudding is delicious!”, said Mark.
“We are expecting a large turnout, especially on the Saturday, so make sure you head down early and get into the spirit of things at Cheers Bar!”
