The 2014 Hatton Gala is set to take place on Sunday, August 31, kicking off with the Ellon Pipe Band marching from the Hatton Mill to the Station Road playing fields.

The popular Hatton Gala 10k Fun Run will return, advance entry is £5 and entries on the day will be £7.

Race entries can be submitted up until 12.45pm at the race tent as the main event will start at 1.30pm, however runners must be aged 16 or over.

Gala entertainment includes Circo Modo, Body Zorbing, Mutiny Tribal Bellydancing, the Sylvia Dalziel School of dance, Shoogle Shimmy, music from Nae Cash and a rousing finale from the Ellon Pipe Band.

The Hatton Gala Welly Throwing competition makes a welcome return this year and there will also be a Fun Pet Show, bouncy castle and a giant slide.

All the usual stalls will be there to entertain, including firm favourites like tombolas, raffles, cake and candy, and various games.

Teas will be served along with a barbecue and tuck shop.

Meanwhile the ever popular Hatton Duck race will be held on Saturday, August 30.

Gala organisers are currently looking for volunteers to help out and donations for raffles and prizes.
