Cinema Paradiso at New Deer

New Deer Community Association will be showing the multi award-winning film, Cinema Paradiso on Sunday, November 16, at 6pm in New Deer Public Hall.

This Italian film with English subtitles is a love letter to the cinema, a celebration of youth, friendship and the everlasting magic of the cinema.

A famous film director remembers his childhood at the Cinema Paradiso in a Sicilian village where Alfredo, the projectionist, first brought about his love of films.

He returns home to his village for the first time after almost 30 years and is reminded of his first love, Elena, who disappeared from his life before he left for Rome.

Cinema Paradiso has enough charm and wit to melt the chilliest heart and will make you laugh , it will make you cry and is not to be missed.

Sue Robertson, promoter said “ We will be serving slices of pizza made by our local deli, Food for Thought, selling glasses of Italian wine and ice cream.

“This will be a lovely Italian themed night out for everyone.

“Tickets at £5 each are available from Food for Thought and Pharmacy 01771 644366/644217 or alternatively you can pay at the door on the night.”
