This year’s Buchanhaven Harbour Gala Day will be staged on Saturday, July 27 from 2pm.
Large crowds flocked to last year’s event after a few years absence and the feedback was so positive that it became clear this had to return to become an annual event.
Buchanhaven Harbour Committee have been working hard to prepare a host of activities and attractions for the summer event.
This year, in addition to all the usual attractions, the Buchanhaven Heritage Society will be hosting a general exhibition in the centre making it a whole village affair and it is set to become a must attend event for the whole family.
In preparation for the event and to ensure anyone who has a interest in participating or helping on the day has their say, a general meeting has been organised for Tuesday, June 25 at the Buchanhaven Community Centre at 7pm. Harbour committee member George Cameron, said “ We were delighted at the response last year and it became clear by the end of the event we would need to stage another this year. We really hope we get a similar response this year and that the weather will be as kind to us.
“A lot of planning and preparation goes into the event, so hopefully we will have something for all tastes and it is great to see the village tradition back on the events calendar to benefit all.
“If you are looking to participate or assist in someway we would love to see you at the meeting on the 25th, and hope to see hundreds of local folk joinign us on July 27.”
