Black comedy to take the stage at New Deer public hall this week

New Deer Community Association will be welcoming Rocket Theatre to the village this week with Oscar Wilde’s Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime.

This show, which will be performed on the floor cabaret style with the audience sitting at tables, is to be performed on Wednesday, April 23, at 7.30pm in the public hall.

The play tells the gripping tale of love, honour, duty, fortune telling and murder!

Lord Arthur takes his wedding vows extremely seriously but when he has his fortune told just weeks before the wedding his destiny just cannot be ignored.

This hilarious retelling of a classic story revels in the wit of Oscar Wilde to create a wicked black comedy that positively fizzes with fun.

Join Lord Arthur and his valet, Middlewick, for an evening of ludicrous indulgence.

Commenting on the performance, Sue Robertson, volunteer promoter said: “We are really pleased that Rocket Theatre is coming to New Deer.

“They get superb reviews so don’t miss this opportunity to see them.

“Wine, soft drinks and ice cream will be on sale before the show and during the interval.”

Tickets for the show, priced at £10 and £8 for concessions are available from Pharmacy and Food for Thought or by calling (01771) 644217 or 644366.

So for a great evening’s entertainment, why not go along to New Deer hall and join in the fun - you will be glad you did!
