VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help keep Peterhead’s cinema facility up and running.
Friends of Peterhead Theatre are looking for people to help out and raise funds to keep the facility - based in the town’s community theatre - operating to a high standard.
Bob Strachan of the group, told the Buchanie: “If anyone would like to help or simply be added to the mailing list to get the ‘what’s on’ brocher and priority notification of what is happening in the theatre we would be delighted to hear from them.
“All they need to do is fill in a short form at www.peterheadtheatre.org.uk and follow the link on that page to the Friends of Peterhead Theatre section.
“Alternatively, they can email firstname.lastname@example.org with their details or fill in a form available from the attendants at the theatre.”
The group has ensured that the Blue Toon is kept abreast of the latest movies, with a host of blockbusters lined up for the next few weeks.
The next screenings will be held on Saturday, February 4, when Alvin & The Chipmunks (U), will be screened at 3pm and Mission Impossible 4 Ghost Protocol (12a) will feature at the later 6pm showing.
Playing around while cruising the Chipmunks and Chipettes accidentally go overboard and end up marooned in a tropical paradise.
They discover their new turf is not as deserted as it seems!
Meanwhile, in Ghost Protocol the IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his team to go rouge to clear their organisation’s name.
On Saturday, February 25, Hugo (PG) will be the 3pm show and The Iron Lady (12a) will be screened at 6pm.
Tickets for the shows are £6 (£5 concessions) and are available from Peterhead Leisure & Community Centre on Balmoor Terrace.
