Cinema lines-up host of top movies for new season

a host of top blockbusting movies are heading to Peterhead’s community theatre cinema this autumn.

The new programme has just been released and includes The Bourne Legacy and Hope Springs.

This weekend, children can enjoy Dr. Seuss: The Lorax (U), on Saturday, an adaptation of Dr Seuss’ classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope.

The film will have two screenings, at 12 noon and 3pm.

Meanwhile, in the evening ‘Ted’ (15), will be screened at 6pm.

Family guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humour to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted.

Saturday, September 29, sees Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (U), screened at 12 noon and 3pm.

During his summer vacation ‘Wimy Kid’ Greg Heffley, the hero of the phenomenally successful book series, hatches a plan to pretend he has a job at a ritzy country club.

Meanwhile in the evening those 15 years and above can enjoy The Bourne Legacy (12A), at 6pm.

This is the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office.

Step Up Revolution (PG), will be screened on Saturday, October 13, at 12 noon and 3p.

It is the next installment in the world-wide smash Step Up franchise.

The evening screening at 6pm is Anna Karenina - a theatrical new vision of the epic story of love adapted from Leo Tolstoy’s timeless novel.

The final screenings for autumn will be held on Saturday, October 27, with The Three Stooges (PG) at 12 noon and 3pm.

Left on a nun’s doorstep, Larry, Curly and Moe grow up finger-poking, nyuk-nyuking and woo-wooing their way to uncharted levels of knucklehead misadventure.

Hope Springs (12A) will be screened at 6pm.

Kay (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband.
