Well-known Blue Toon performers Alasdair Corbett and Stephanie Wemyss have announced an exciting new venture.

The pair, who are currently working on their popular ‘Oh What a Night’ charity show on July 2, have launched their own production company - Centre Stage Productions - with the aim of providing high-quality entertainment to Peterhead and the surrounding area.

Alasdair said: “We felt that setting up a more official group would allow us to promote all of our concerts/performances under the same organisation, as well as allow us to explore different events that we could offer the local community.”

Alasdair said that they both felt strongly after the fantastic facilities in the town that go largely unused.

“In the long-term we feel Centre Stage Productions will allow us to organise some fantastic events for the community to enjoy,” he said.

“This won’t necessarily always be held in the theatre either as there is a huge amount of potential for this to expand to all different types of events and performances.

“Our charity concerts are always very loyally supported, for which we are very grateful, so we felt this was an ideal way for people to stay easily informed about any upcoming productions.”

This year’s show, ‘Oh What a Night’ will be held in Peterhead Community Theatre on Saturday, July 2, at 7pm and will be the first event under the newly-formed company.

“This will follow the same format as last year’s concert and is set to be an amazing evening of entertainment with some exceptionally talented local performers,” continued Alasdair.

“Set to perform are myself and Stephanie, Lynsey Craddock, Rhea Forman, Rhona Johnston, Joanne Peacock, Ryan Peacock, Craig Pike, Sophie Hamilton Pike, Steven Reid and Amanda Watt.

“Musical director Craig McDermott will accompany performers on the grand piano,” he added.

Last year’s show, which was held in aid of CLIC Sargent, was a complete sell-out and gained rave reviews from the audience.

It is hoped that this year’s concert will be another sell-out production as folk rally to support the pair’s new venture.

All proceeds from this year’s show will be donated to Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland.

Tickets, priced £8, can be purchased from Genesis Personnel, The Trading Post, by calling (01779) 481197 or by visiting Centre Stage Productions’ Facebook page.
