A busy October for members of Peterhead Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Peterhead and the Buchan Vintage Tractor & Engine Club will host their sixth annual Vintage Charity Ploughing Match at Auchlee Farm, Longside, courtesy of Messrs Neil Godsman on Saturday, October 18, starting at 10am.

Entries are still welcome and entry forms are available from Eric Mallarkey on 07801 197504.

Ross Kinnaird from Kinross will give a horse ploughing demonstration and an old threshing mill will be in operation.

Cottage pie, teas etc will be on sale to members of the public and all proceeds are going to local charities and Rotary International charities.

There is also a Harvest Home Concert which will be held on Sunday, October 19, at 7pm in the Palace Hotel, Peterhead.

The concert will be compered by Robert Lovie with well-known local entertainers Eddie Rose, Wayne Robertson, Claire Telford, Fred Davison & friends.

Tickets are priced £12.50, which includes supper, and are available from the Palace Hotel, Robert Emslie Jewellers and the Buchan Observer.

Meanwhile, the Rotary Club will also be holding a buttery morning and nearly new sale at the end of the month.

This will be held in the town’s Trinity Church Hall on Saturday, October 15. The event will run from 10am, with all proceeds from the buttery morning going in aid of Rotary Polio Day.
