Under 21s continue good form

THE Blue Toon remain unbeaten in Aberdeenshire League after mauling a young Formartine United side at Balmoor last Tuesday night.

With a number of players making comebacks after injury, it was a strong Blue Toon team that took to the field at Balmoor, and their experience showed.

Callum Macdonald marshalled an otherwise youthful defence, while Paul Emslie, Nicky Clark and Daniel Moore all started in midfield. Conor Gethins and Dennis Wyness were the front two.

It was one of the youngsters, Jamie McLaughlin, who opened the scoring, sliding the ball low into the net after Gethins had sent Daniel Moore away down the left.

Wyness and Gethins notched a brace apiece to send Peterhead in at the interval 5-0 up.

Moore set Gethins up again in the second half for the Irishman to claim a hat-trick, before Formartine bagged a late consolation with a dramatic lob over Blue Toon goalkeeper Andy Burr.
