RUGBY PLAYERS TACKLE THE WEATHER

Will the weather be favourable to the rugby fraternity this Christmas?

Last year saw the first cancellation of the annual Christmas rugby game for a number of years due to the snow and ice.

Forecasts are not good but hopefully they will be wrong and once again the former rugby players from Mintlaw Academy will gather together to play a Christmas game.

Many players returning for the festivities plus local players past and present turn up to play a most enjoyable and attractive game of rugby, played in the same spirit as the Barbarians do to entertain an appreciative crowd.

Regularly 30+ players many who have not played since school, others who still play, mix together for a most enjoyable game followed by some enjoyable socialising afterwards.

Once again the call goes out to all former academy players to come along either to play or watch and then socialise in the Garrett Bar after the game.

Where the game will be played will very much depend on pitch conditions. Everyone should meet at the Pleasure Park in Mintlaw on Sunday, December 26 at 10.30am. After the game you can retire to the Garrett Bar for some well-earned refreshments.
