Peterhead Running Festival gets under starters orders this weekend - with participants well up on last year’s figure.
Around 75 runners have signed up for the Shell 5k, with more than 90 taking part in the Peterhead Half Marathon event.
Meanwhile, in excess of 400 school children have signed up for the Shell Fun Runs, making it the most successful festival since its launch three years ago.
Organiser, Stephen Bruce of Peterhead Jogscotland, said that 30 teams will take part in the football gala, with a host of stalls and entertainment provided at Catto Park throughout Sunday’s event.
In Peterhead FC’s lounge, local skipper Peter Bruce will be serving up delicious samples of haddock goujons, donated by Peterhead trawlers, and there will be 12 charity stalls raising cash for a host of good causes including CLAN, Relay for Life and Macmillan.
There will also be the chance to meet the players and the team will also be launching its new football strip for the 2013/14 season.
So make sure you head to Catto Park on Sunday for what is set to be the best Peterhead Running Festival yet.
The fun starts at 10am!
