More than 180 runners hit the road to compete in the Peterhead 10k last weekend.
The race was the first event organised by Peterhead Athletics Club and organisers were delighted at the capacity entry on the day.
Main sponsor for this year’s race was Marathon Oil, with Genesis Recruitment Peterhead providing the medals and Morrisons Peterhead providing the water. The spot prize sponsor this year was Peterhead Jogscotland, while other sponsors of the race were Emslie Jeweller, Peterhead, Dales Engineering and the Waterside Hotel.
Overall winner was Ron Gauld, who also won this year’s Peterhead Half Marathon.
Ron finished in a time of 33.26.
Sarah Leibnitz was the overall female winner and also took the first female place at the half marathon. Her time was 37.20.
Peterhead athletics stalwart, Alan Reid, was the first local to cross the line in a time of 36.20.
Four other local runners finished in under 40 minutes.
Peterhead was well represented, with more than 50 people taking part.
