The fourth round of the Boyndie Drome Open Challenge took place at the Banff circuit recently.
In the Honda Cadets Aidan Welch opened up a gap over Craig Mann and Max Stancliffe and took the victory.
Mann took second with Stancliffe on his bumper as they crossed the line.
In the Prokarts, Eddie Stancliffe won the ‘B’ Prokart final and was followed home by Paul Weston.
These drivers got the last two spots in the ‘A’ final.
Michael Ogilvie got the best start and soon opened a gap over the pack of driver to take a comfortable victory.
Mark Wyness that took second ahead of McBride. Stancliffe had made it through to fourth followed home by Robert Sinclair Jnr, James Duguid and Stuart Wyness.
The Junior Max final got underway and settled down in the order of Elliot McIntosh, Ross Shearer, Shaun Davidson, Lewis Rae and Samuel Ashton and this was the order going into the last lap.
Shearer got through to lead at the top of the straight. As they entered Kevin’s Korner the front two touched and McIntosh landed on Shearer.
Davidson reacted and spun into the front two. Rae took advantage and raced to take an unexpected victory. McIntosh recovered first to take second and Davidson third.
The Senior Max event saw pole-man Kevin Ross break free from the pack immediately at the start of the race.
The gap was large enough for him to relax and take the victory.
Wilson came home in second with Souter third.
Michael Christie took the lead at the starting lights from Cliff Harper in the ICC (Gearbox).
Christie took the victory with Harper a few lengths back. Neil Anderson held position across the line to take third.
Linda Wilson presented trophies in clubhouse after the meeting. The next race meeting takes place on Sunday, September 8.
