Buchan Netball Club has netted support from its local MP in its campaign to secure netball lines at Peterhead Community Centre.

Dr Eilidh Whiteford met the ladies on Thursday at Peterhead Community Centre, and took part in a game.

Speaking afterwards, Dr Whiteford told the Buchanie: “It was a pleasure meeting with the women at the club, and trying out netball for myself.

“It’s a great sport, and the club is actively seeking new members, so I’d encourage anyone with an interest in the sport to get involved.

“In addition, I have discussed the matter of the lines with Aberdeenshire councillors, and will be seeking progress on this matter as soon as possible.”

Buchan Netball Club meets on a Tuesday, at the MACBI Centre in Mintlaw, and on Thursdays at Peterhead Community Centre.

The club was founded in October 2014, and now competes in the Aberdeen league.

Buchan Netball Club is open to women of all ages and abilities, and backgrounds.
