A very busy year so far for Longside Tennis Club teams

It has been a very busy year so far for members of Longside Tennis Club.

The men’s team are currently in Division 2 in the NESLTA summer league in which they play two singles and two doubles matches.

The team, captained by Alfie Thomson, have played six matches drawing with Cults D, Rubislaw and Stonehaven D winning four sets and losing four.

Unfortunately they lost 1-7 to Westhill, 3-5 to King A and 3-6 to Banchory 6.

The ladies’ team playing in Division 4 where they play four doubles matches, and captained by May Bain, have had an excellent start winning 8-1 against Westhill B, 8-0 against Kemnay A and 6-2 versus Aberdeen (Hard) Tennis.

The Buchan League Tennis games begin this weekend when Longside will play Udny Tennis Club.

As part of the Longside Gala, Longside Tennis Club offered children a morning of fun games and activities.

A couple of members of the club, club coach Brenda Sutherland and secretary Helen Bryce, attended the viewing of the Davis Cup atWestburn Tennis Centre.
