While there is no doubting the 1500 metres athlete’s standing after a year in which she has delivered records, titles, an Olympic final and now been voted Scottish Athlete of the Year by her peers, hopes of those accomplishments did not dominate her childhood.

Reasonable conditions at Delgatie Castle Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery offers fly fishing from boat or bank; set in the tranquil grounds of Delgatie Castle. The loch covers 4 acres and is well stocked with Rainbow Trout, which range from 1.8lb to well into double figures. There is also a good head of wild Brown Trout.

The past week has seen reasonable fishing conditions although the weather has been far from seasonable for holidaymakers.
