New Pitsligo knock out cup holders

New Pitsligo travelled to face Scottish Cup holders Castleview and found themselves a goal down when the home side opened the score on 24 minutes.

But Pitsligo drew level four minutes later with a goal from Neil Christie.

The home side had a lot of pressure in the second half without really troubling Simpson in the away goal. Stephen had a great chance to put the visitors ahead but fired wide of the goals.

With ten minutes remaining Pitsligo hit the home side on the break with Will firing home the winner. This was a great result for New Pitsligo knocking the cup winners out for the second year in a row.

Bellslea had home advantage over Clydebank Rovers and the home side produced a brilliant performance as they were missing quite a few players today but were too strong for the visitors scoring six without reply.

Scorers for Bellslea were Jordan Clark and William Calder both netting braces and one each from Matthew Rutter and Jamie Buchan with goal of the game with a curling shot from 25 yards which found the top corner of the net.

Cheers had home advantage over Clydebank Co-op in the ir second round tie but it was the away side that go through to the last 16 scoring two goals without reply.

League winners Clinton Thistle had an away tie against Kirkmichael and found the home side too strong for them when they went down 6-1, Batty scoring Clinton’s goal.

St Drostans faced Golf Inn in their second round tie in the Scottish Cup and it was the visitors who go through to the last 16 winning 5-2.

Soccerworld Cup Semi Final

Faithlie United entertained St Combs for a place in the final of the Soccerworld Cup.

This was expected to be a close affair and it ended that way with the match tied at 4-4 after extra time. But Faithlie triumphed in a penalty shootout winning 5-3. Faithlie scorers were Dale Allan netting a double, and the others from Barry Stephen and Fraser Anderson and for the away side John Smith (2) and one each from Ryan Dunbar and Peter Bruce.
