A 19-year-old defender from Raith Rovers has joined Peterhead on loan until January.
Edinburgh-born Reece Donaldson - currently a part of Raith’s Scottish Championship set up - is set to start for the Toon on Saturday against East Stirling.
Peterhead manager Jim McInally told the Buchanie: “I saw him play the second half of the Ramsdens Cup semi and he did well.
“We definitely need another defender in.”
The arrival of the full back will be a welcome reprieve for the Blue Toon, who have yet to keep a clean sheet this season .
McInally’s squad has been plagued by defensive injuries.
Centre backs Scott Ross, Callum MacDonald and Ryan Strachan are all currently out of action.
Remarkably the Donaldson is one of The Rovers’ longest-serving players.
Donaldson joined the club when he was only 14 and signed a full-time contract in the summer of 2010.
He played a part in Raith’s 3-0 victory over Annan Athletic in the Ramsdens Cup semi-final in October.
