Harbour Lights opened their Buchan Welfare league campaign against local rivals Mambos.

The away side took the lead after six minutes when a cross came in and a defender tried to volley clear but sliced his clearance and it went over Alexander in the home goal.

Mambos did double their lead when Brown fired a shot from 12 yards into the roof of the net. On the hour mark Paul Taylor came close to pulling a goal back but his shot went past the post. Harbour Lights’ best effort came near the end of the match when a shot came back off the bar with the keeper beaten.

Methlick faced one of the new teams - Grange United - and it was the visitors that collected all three points in a 3-1 win. The winning goals came from Marc Walker, Brent Holtby-Wall and James Watson, with Martin Smith replying for the home side.
