Weekend action aplenty from Buchan’s Welfare sides

Deejays Nightclub League

Faithlie United faced Bellslea and after a goalless first half the away side went in front with a Garden header from a superb cross from Tait.

Bellslea doubled their lead and claimed all three points when Garden followed up a Gall free kick from 30 yards which hit the underside of the cross bar.

New Deer faced neighbours New Pitsligo and it ended with a comfortable win for the away side by 7-1.

Mintlaw faced Balmoor and it was the visitors who went in front with a goal from Mark Walker then the away side doubled their lead with one from Ryan Webster.

It stayed that way until the last minute where the home side scored through Darren Steele but it wasn’t enough to stop Balmoor netting all three points.

Soccerworld Scotland League

Mormond Thistle got back to winning ways when they entertained Cuminestown in a league match.

It finished with the home side netting all three points scoring two goals without reply.

Longside Thistle faced Ardallie in a league game and it was a fine win for the home side by 4-1.

Soccerworld Cup Q/Final

Panasonic faced New Pitsligo and in a high-scoring match it was the away side that went through to the semi-finals winning by the odd goal in nine.

Terry Sutton Memorial Cup Q/Final

Elizabethan Link Up faced Clinton Thistle and this was always going to be a hard task for the home side but the first half ended goalless.

Clinton took charge of the second half and went on to score five goals without reply to move forward to the semi finals.

Victoria Coaches Cup Q/Final

Mintlaw FC faced St Combs and a place in the semi-final up for grabs.

The match ended with the home side winning by the odd goal in three.

Highland Cup Q/Final

Bellslea faced Moray side Burghead United for a place in the semi-final.

Bellslea pushed right from the first whistle, and had a Rollo shot saved after eight minutes.

Bellslea opened the scoring on 42 minutes with a Milne penalty.

Bellslea made it 2-0 when Sim finished after a great through ball from Milne.

Rollo made it 3-0 with a lob from 25 yards.

Panasonic welcomed Faithlie United and the home side went in front on 29 minutes when Paul Donaldson lashed home from six yards.

Into the second half and the home side doubled their lead with a goal from Neil Cameron.

The same player made it 3-0 with a fine finish.

Panasonic were awarded a penalty and Jake Leslie made no mistake.

The away side did manage to get a consolation goal from Andrew Reid.
