Buchanhaven Hearts travelled to Aberdeen to take on Bridge of Don Thistle at the weekend.
Both teams gave nothing away early on and Dick shot over for Thistle from a good position.
Hearts had a great chance to go ahead when Robinson played in Bain, but Burr saved with an oustretched leg.
Hearts were containing Thistle well and were restricting them to long-range efforts which didn’t bother Thomson.
Burr again saved Thistle with his legs. Bain was through but couldn’t get the ball past Burr.
However, it was Thistle that took the lead through Elliot when he was yards offside, but was allowed to carry on under the second phase rule and shot past Thomson to put the home side ahead.
Hearts should have equalised when Robinson weaved his way through and cut the ball back to Bain, but again Burr saved with his legs.
The visitors should have won a penalty when Bain was taken down by Galashan, but the referee waved play-on - a poor decision.
Hearts came out looking for the equaliser in the second half and took the game to Thistle.
Clunes got down the right back and his cross hit the far post and was knocked wide by Leslie.
Dick tried a long-range effort but was well off target.
Hearts subbed Usher for Leslie. Duncan tried a shot from 20 yards but didn’t trouble Burr.
Then Bain was again put through but yet again Burr denied him with his legs.
Thistle scored in 85 minutes when a cross from Duff was headed home by the unmarked Gunn.
Hearts were unlucky and didn’t get any breaks during the game.
Burr saved Thistle time and time again.
Hearts are at home to Glentanar next week with a 2pm kick-off.
