Before Peterhead’s Les Taylor Memorial match against Ross County, the club also honoured another man who has made an outstanding impact on local football.

Alan Davidson, 68, who worked for the late Les Taylor, was secretary for Longside FC for 51 years until ill health forced him to step down earlier this year.

Mr Davidson was invited to Saturday’s match but had no idea Peterhead general manager Nat Porter would present him with a special quaich in recognition of his long service.

Before becoming secretary, Mr Davidson played nearly 500 games for Longside as a goalkeeper.
