Plenty of weekend Welfare action from Buchan sides

In Group 1 of the Gordon Leask Memorial Cup, Elizabethan Link Up faced Longside Thistle and it was the away side that took their chances and scored three goals without reply.

In another group 1 game between New Deer and Peterhead United it finished 3-3.

In Group 2 Clinton Thistle faced St Combs and the away side took the lead through a John Smith goal. The home side scored twice through Shaun Sim and Willie Noble. Scott Milne netted a third for the home side.

In Group 3 Bellslea played host to Panasonic. Bellslea went in front but in the second half a mistake let in Nathan Taylor to level the score. Falconer then netted his second to put the home side back in front before James Brookes levelled again. The home side got the winner from a close finish by Davie Ross.

In the Deejays Nightclub League Mintlaw FC and Balmoor finished all square with both sides netting twice.

Invercairn United faced Faithlie United and the home side went 3-0 up inside 11 minutes but the visitors scored three times inside three minutes to level the score at half time. The home side went back in front again by scoring a fourth but Faithlie hit back to level in the last minute for a deserved draw.

In the Scottish Cup Q/Final Mormond Thistle faced The Star and it was the home side that went through winning by 5-3 after extra time.

Soccerworld Scotland league-Buchanhaven faced Methlick and it ended with the away team taking all three points with Simon Tempest scoring the only goal of the game.

In another league game Cuminestown played hosts to Ardallie and it was the away side who won by the odd goal in seven.
