Midfielder Bryan Gifillan has quashed internet rumours that he is set to return to former club Annan in a summer transfer.
The 29-year-old, who joined Peterhead from Clyde last year, said: “There is absolutely no truth to it but there’s nothing you can really do to stop these rumours.
“Hopefully if and when we clinch the title I’ll be able to talk to the manager about extending my contract.”
The majority of Jim McInally’s squad are out of contract in the summer but almost all are likely to be offered extensions to their deals as the League Two title favourites look ahead to the possibility of League One football.
Gilfillan has made 28 appearances for the Blue Toon this season and has netted four times.
