The Over 35s took on the Referees from the NESAFA Football League at the weekend in this popular, and eagerly anticipated annual fixture.

The first chance of the game fell to the referees when an M. Milne shot hit the bar.

Then at the other Karl Noble also saw his shot bounce off the woodwork.

However, it was the over 35s who went in front thanks to an own goal by James Robertson.

After half time Peterhead United manager Big G made it 2-0.

Jack Heatherwick came close to reducing the deficit but his shot came back of the bar.

Dale Allan made it 3-0, finishing off a fine passing move then Alex Lorgan got a consolation goal for the Referees to end the scoring.

Man of the Match for the Referees was awarded to Douglas Morrison and for the over 35s it was Don Allan.

A grand total of £400 was raised on the day and this will be split between two local charities, which have yet to be confirmed.

The organisers have expressed thanks to all who participated in the annual match.

Thanks were also given to to proprietor of the Elizabethan Bar, Mark Forsyth, who laid on food at the Broch bar following the game.
