Narrow win for Bay

Cruden Bay entertained Sunnybank in a PMAC Division One (East) game on Saturday.

Sunnybank started the game more brightly and had affair proportion of the opening half hour.

However, they didn’t create many chances to capitalise on their possession and Summers in the home goal only had one real save to make, tipping a cross from the right away with the Bay defence completing the clearance.

The Bay did have a scare when an Arthur clearance rebounde off Sime and went just wide of Summers’ right hand post.

The home side then came more into the game and started to apply pressure on the visitors’ defence.

They created several chances but could not get the better of Clark in the Sunnybank goal who made a couple of fine saves.

It was a different story in the second half when the Bay went onto the attack from the restart.

They were unlucky when a Buchan cross shot beat Clark only for the ball to rebound off the inside of the post.

The Bay continued to apply pressure and were finally rewarded when Cowe was pushed in the box after 69 minutes - Stainton calmly stroking the ball past Clark to givem a well deserved lead.

Although the Bay continued to attack, they were unable to increase their lead.
