For the first 15 minutes play went from end to end without any chances being created by either side.

A minute later Mormond went ahead when a first time ball from Grieg found Anderson whose first time shot from 20 yards found the bottom corner.

Allan in the Mormond goal made a fine save diving low to his left to palm clear a McCallum free kick.

Anderson then doubled the Mormond lead when a free kick was spilled by McDonald and the striker was first to react to poke home.

Town earned 3 corners in quick succession but were all dealt with comfortably by the Mormond defence.

A free kick by McCallum was straight at the keeper.

Mormond’s Grieg went close with a shot from 18 yards before a Dale Allan drive came crashing back off the cross bar.

Half Time: 2 - 0.

The second half started and McDonald did well to tip an Anderson shot over the bar.

A Massie shot went straight at Allan in the Mormond goals.

A ball over the Town defence found Anderson who rounded the keeper but Bissett got back to clear off the line.

A through ball to Bruce who collided with Allan and the chance was gone.

Eccles came close to pulling a goal back for Town when his curling shot came back off the post and fell to McCallum whose drive was well saved by Allan.

Town pulled a goal back with 15 minutes remaining when McCallum earned a penalty and David Cran converted.

A ball down the left was latched onto by Howe and his fierce left foot shot was brilliantly saved by Allan.

Just before the final whistle Town had a big penalty claim waived aside by the officials.

The final whistle went and Mormond had done enough to lift the cup.
