Lossie Utd hold no six-appeal for nine-man Buchanhaven Hearts

HEARTS went to Lossiemouth to take on Lossie Utd in a league game at the weekend.

They started well and Barbour was unlucky when he turned Wilson and shot across goals, then Fraser pulled of a great save from a Sandison headrer in Lossie’s first attack.

They took the lead when Stewart’s shot was blocked by Bruce but he shot home the rebound, then Fraser pulled off another great save from a Norris piledriver but things got worse when in a Lossie breakaway Bruce pulled down Bagley and was sent off. The referee gave a penalty for being deemed last man.

Jamie Clark took over in goal with Sandison coming off. McGettrick scored to put Lossie 2-0 ahead. Ten men Hearts were still playing the better football and came close with a shot from Barbour after good work from Norris.

Just on half time another Lossie breakaway saw McGettrick get time to shoot past Clark and make it 3-0.

The second half saw Hearts still outplay their opponents and Fraser again pulled off a great save from a Barbour shot, then substitute Duncan should have scored but Fraser again stopped the shot.

Hearts went down to nine men when Glendinning was sent off for a second bookable offence. This made things a lot harder for Hearts but they still plugged away but were caught out late on with tired legs and three more goals from McGettrick, Wilson and a Sime own goal.

This was another heavy defeat for the second time at Lossie, but playing with ten men then nine didn’t help the cause.

The referee did not help with five bookings and two sendings off and Lossie didn’t have a player booked. Hearts travel to Dundee this week to take on Dundee North End in the Inter Regional Cup. The bus leaves club at 10.15am.

HEARTS: Bruce, Findlay, Glendinning, Sime, Donaldson, Brown, Norris, S. Cunningham, Barbour, Ritchie, Sandison. Subs: Abolgehassem, Leslie, Duncan, Clark, Donald, McLeod.
