Longside came away from the Broch on Saturday with a fabulous three points from their encounter with Fraserburgh United.
The visitors got off to the best possible start in this PMAC group Superleague match when they opened the scoring in the first minute.
Walker found Usher and his shot went into the path of Craig Bruce and he scored from close range.
Walker got on the end of a poor pass back but Sinclair came out of his goal to make a fine save. A Porter cross into the centre was saved by Sinclair before being cleared as far as Stainton but his snap shot went wide.
A Bruce corner hit the bar before it was scrambled clear, Arthur picked up the ball on the half way line before weaving his way clear but his shot was superbly saved by Sinclair.
Sinclair had another tremendous save to turn away a 25 yard shot from Usher. The Longside pressure paid off in 23 minutes when they doubled their lead after Mark Stainton got the ball and sent a 25 yard shot flying into the top corner.
At the other end a good cross from Watt was headed clear by Arthur, Bisset picked up the loose ball but when he fired it into the middle Beddie was on hand to get the ball upfield.
A Porter cross to the far post was met by Bruce but his shot was blocked and then cleared for a corner which came to nothing. A Walker free kick from the edge of the box was saved by Sinclair, Porter got to the loose ball but his effort was blocked before being cleared.
Bisset tried a shot from 30 yards but his effort went over the bar. A great turn by Watt set up a chance but Arthur made a timely tackle to clear the danger. Broch then forced two corners in quick succession but the Longside defence stood firm.
Longside had a great chance when Bruce found Stainton 15 yards out and his shot was saved by Sinclair but nobody was on hand to cash in on the loose ball and the danger was cleared.
The Broch almost pulled a goal back when Watt got to the ball but his shot was well blocked by Thomson and the ball then rebounded off the forward and went over the bar. A McLeman free kick from 25 yards was straight at Thomson. In the 68th minute a Buchan free kick was well held by Thomson. Longside made two changes in the closing minutes with Cardno and Whyte replacing Usher and Porter. In the final minute Thomson made a brave save when he fisted clear a Buchan free kick.
The strong wind made conditions difficult for both sides but Longside adapted to it a lot better and if it had not been for Broch keeper Sinclair the score might have been more comfortable.
