Longside had Fraserburgh Utd as visitors in midweek in the PMAC Group Superleague.

The home side made a fast start by opening the scoring in the fourth minute, Campbell fed the ball to Zander Davidson and his pin point cross was slammed into the net by Ross Cardno.

McLeman tried a shot from 30 yards for the visitors but his effort went wide but Pennet had it covered.

A Zander Davidson free kick was cleared as far as Walker but his hook shot went over the bar. Fraserburgh earned a free kick just outside the box, McLeman fired the ball high over the bar.

Tait cut inside before finding Rollo but his 20-yard shot went narrowly wide. Walker was sent clear by Duncan but his shot was straight at Broch keeper Deltesta.

With 35 minutes gone Rollo tried another 25-yard shot but again he couldn’t find the target. A Fraser Davidson shot was saved by Pennet at full stretch.

Bissett and Fraser Davidson linked up before the latter fired his shot over the bar.

Just before half time Longside made a double change with Beddie and Whyte replacing Panton and Duncan.

Fraserburgh had a chance when Fraser Davidson was first to react in the box but he poked the ball wide.

Longside made an enforced final change when Little replaced the injured Walker . The home defence had a let off when Innes got on the end of a free kick but he headed the ball wide.

Marchi should have doubled the home side’s lead when he headed the ball straight at Deltesta after good work from Little. Hay tried a long range shot but it drifted wide.

Little did well to control the ball before getting his shot away but it went inches wide.

A Bissett corner was half cleared out to Rollo, he put the ball back into the danger area before it was cleared for another corner which came to nothing. Little did well on the left before putting the ball across goal for Marchi to fire into the net but the referee’s assistant had his flag up for offside.

The home defence was put under a lot of pressure in the closing stages but held on for a valuable three points.

Longside can count themselves rather fortunate to get all three points, after dominating the first 20 minutes the home side should have had more than one goal to show for there play but after that the Broch came more into the game and were very unlucky to go home empty handed.

LONGSIDE: Pennet, Panton, S. Davidson, Donaldson, Paterson, Marchi, Cardno, Walker, Duncan, Campbell, A. Davidson. Subs: Beddie, Whyte, Little, Weir and Porter.
