BUCHANHAVEN Hearts had Hillhead as visitors to Raemoss Park in a First Division encounter at the weekend.

Hearts gave a debut to 16-years-old goalkeeper Alexander Buchan who was covering for the injured Scott Bruce. Hillhead had the wind advantage and had first shot at goals but Anderson’s shot was well wide.

Hearts should have opened the scoring when Barbour found Sandison with a neat pass but Knowles stopped his shot. A lovely ball from Cunningham found Barbour whose neat touch found Park rushing in on goal but his shot was saved by Knowles against the run of play.

Hillhead took the lead when a long kick-out from Knowles found Kwitkowski and he shot past Buchan to put the visitors 1-0 ahead. Knowles again saved well from Sandison as he shot through a ruck of players.

Hearts equalised when Findlay knocked on a long ball and Glendinning beat Knowles to the ball to head home.

After the break Hearts had the wind advantage and went 2-1 ahead when a lovely through ball from Sandison found Barbour and he cut inside to shoot past Knowles from outside the box.

Hearts won a penalty with a handball from McCraw, a disputed decision with McCraw and Bremner getting sent off for disputing the decision. Barbour’s kick saw Knowles save but Sandison followed up to score to put Hearts 3-1 ahead.

Sadly Hearts could not build on the advantage and threw away the game when a free kick from Roger found the net with a wicked bounce and Hearts suffered when Anderson was allowed so much room to shoot past Buchan to make it 3-3.

Hearts couldn’t find a way through, they came close through Ryan Donaldson but Knowles saved his effort.

For the second week in a row Hearts threw away a two-goal lead. They just switched off when in front and found that to their cost with the loss of points.

Hearts would like to thank the Royal Bank of Scotland Ladies and Nickall Training services for their sponsorship of the last home game of the season. They picked Danny Glendinning and Alexander Buchan as their man of the match.

The next game is away to Islavale, kick-off 2.30pm.
