Hearts go into break on top of league

Buchanhaven Hearts had Newmachar United as visitors in a Division 1 East game at Raemoss Park recently.

Hearts started well and had a goal disallowed early on when Ballard was adjudged to have been offside.

But they went ahead soon after when Ballard was put through and scored easily.

They made it 201 when Owen Tocher played his way into the box and slid the ball past Bain.

Newmachar pulled a goal back when Watson shot past Gatt from the edge of the box.

But Hearts went 3-1 up when Ballard was sent through to shoot past Bain.

He got his hat-trick when again he went through to finish past Bain to make it 4-1.

Hearts continued on the attack and Dane Ballard got his fourth goal with a good finish from a tight angle to make it 5-1.

Then new signing Bryan Dlugonski headed home a Ritchie corner to make it six. Newmachar pulled a goal back when Still shot past Gatt who should have done better.

They made it 6-3 when Duncanson shot home from inside the box, but it wasn’t long before Dane Ballard scored twice in succession to get a double hat-trick to make it 8-3.

Hearts weren’t finished, however, and Ryan Duncan got in on the act to score two late goals to make it 10-3.

This was a tremendous performance from Buchanhaven Hearts who terrorised Newmachar from start to finish.

Dane Ballard scored six goals with great finishing.

Hearts played some great stuff throughout the match and may it continue into the latter part of the season.

Hearts now go into the break on top of the league with their next game on January 9.
