A LARGE contingent of Aberdeen FC supporters from the Garioch and surrounding area were part of the massive Dons support who travelled to Glasgow for the League Cup final on Sunday.

An exodus from the North-east took place as over 40,000 members of the Red Army travelled to Celtic Park for the final between Aberdeen and Northern rivals Inverness Caley Thistle.

And the early start and long trip proved to be well worth it at the Dons beat Inverness after a penalty shoot-out to take the trophy back to the Granite City, ending a 19 year wait for silverware.
