FOOTBALLERS are being given the opportunity to experience six-a-side football leagues at the Catto Park Astroturf in Peterhead, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 27, and will operate all day for teams to play in a free six-a-side football cup competition to determine the best team in the area.
The competition is open to footballers of varying standards, from competitive teams wanting to win or first timers who just want to take part and enjoy the experience.
Any standard of teams are welcome from FA 11-a-side teams, company teams, work friends and casual friends and the contest will be completely free of charge, as it is being supported by Soccersixes.net
Small-sided football leagues are the fastest growing sport in the UK and it has recently being revealed and widely published that a five/six-a-side kickabouts are better for your health than lifting weights.
The kicking, twisting and turning and shorts sprints in a high energy game are better for your heart, health and building muscles say the experts. Research across seven countries monitored heart rates and muscles of people of all ages as they played small sided football.
During Sunday’s competition, teams will play a minimum of three, 20-minute games and the winning team will not only be the champions within the area but also invited to a national cup to determine the best team in the small sided league network.
It is easy to enter and teams can register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07890 681066.
Places are limited and with competition being free of charge it is estimated to fill up quickly.
