It was back to league business on Saturday for Cruden Bay when they entertained top of the league Colony Park in this PMAC League Division Two game at Watson Park.

But it ended in another defeat for the Bay who showed the visitors too much respect when their defence was put under pressure it was at times suspect.

Gatt was in action early on when he had to punch clear a Strachan corner; the ball fell to McGuiness who put an effort, that was well wide.

Whyte latched onto a long clearance from Gatt and broke through the Colony Park defence, however the final effort from the Bay attacker went wide.

The Bay had a scare when the ball deflected off Hart from a McDonald corner but gatt was alert enough to collect the ball.

An Inglis free kick, from the left, was headed wide by Cameron and then Abolghassem headed on a Gatt goal kick to the same player who ran on into the box but Sim was on hand to save comfortably. Cameron then received the ball on the right and put in cross which Whyte was unable to connect with. A Sime free kick was then headed into the hands of Sim by Cameron.

Gatt had to move smartly off his line to clear a through ball from Strachan before the on rushing McDonald could collect the pass.

A Whyte free kick tested Sim in the visitors goal, but he managed to tip the ball over from just under the crossbar.

The visitors broke the deadlock after 38 minutes - MacLeod receiving the ball from a clearance and putting it across goal for McDonald to slot home.

A good run on the left by Ramsey ended with his cross being cleared by the visitor’s defence and another good run, again on the left, by the same player saw him put the ball back to Whyte whose shot was saved by Sim who got down well to save at the base of his right hand post.

The visitors increased their lead after 69 minutes. A ball put into the box by Strachan eluded the Bay defence and MacLeod was on hand to stab the ball into the net.

Ramsey was again prominent when he turned on the edge of the box and put in a shot which Sim tipped round the post. Lawrence then put the ball wide from the corner. In another Bay attack Buchan received the ball on the left and put in a cross, which Whyte headed goalwards; however, Sim manage to parry the ball clear.

The Bay stepped up their game and put the visitors under pressure. In one Bay attack Tocher made a run down the right and put in a cross, which Whyte just put wide of goal. Despite the increased pressure the Bay were unable to reduce the arrears. In fact it was the visitors who increased their lead in the dying minutes; they were awarded a penalty for an off the ball incident involving Abolghassem, who was shown the red card. McDonald made no mistake with his spot kick.
