Joint table toppers Colony Locos and Formartine met for the second time this season and not surprisingly it was another close encounter with Keiran LAWRENCE netting twice in a 2-2 draw,
the first draw for both teams this season.
Colony Colts 19s were at Alford and despite their improved form of late went down by two goals to one.
Colony Colts 17s couldn’t find the net against Bervie Caley and lost 3-0 in the league
Colony Park U16s were at home to Huntly in a league match that they really needed to win to avoid a relegation battle in the next few weeks. The first half was uneventful, but Colony fell behind in the first few minutes. They got the equaliser on 47 minutes when a Craig Mackie cross was tapped in at the back post by Fin MATHERS. Colony Park still looked like the could get something from this match but mid way through the second half fell behind again when a shot from distance squirmed through the keepers hands. Three minutes later Huntly got the killer goal when a corner was knocked in. Colony Park continued to press and with 5 minutes left pulled one back when Dale RENNIE placed his shot into the side of the goal. The team battled on but were not able to get the equaliser.
Colony Park U 15s lost 3-0 in the local derby with Formartine
Colony Park U14s entertained top A league side Lewis United in the EMT Semi Final at Colony Park. Due to a combination of reasons Colony only had 11 fit players for the match. Both teams cancelled each other out during the first half with limited chances created.
10 minutes into the second half Colony took the lead from a Callum JONES shot inside the 6 yard box after a great Adam Smith corner kick.
5 minutes later Colony increased their lead further this time from a free kick 20 yards out. Striker Adam SMITH blasted the free kick high past the Lewis goalkeeper to give Colony a 2-0 lead. Colony had the game in control at this point however Lewis showed their resilience by coming back after Colony gave away a penalty kick which Lewis converted. With less that 5 minutes to play and against the run of play Lewis Utd equalised from a corner kick with a scrappy goal in past goalkeeper Faskin.
Half way through the first period of extra time Colony took the lead again with a fine third goal. Adam Smith picked up the ball in the middle of the field and played a great through ball for Lewis BEATTIE to run onto and finish camly past the Lewis goalkeeper making it 3-2
Colony played with confidence and looked comfortable with the lead however with less than 2 minutes left of Extra time Lewis Utd grabbed a late and dramatic equaliser with a deflected shot past the Colony goalkeeper bring the game to a dramatic penalty shoot out
Colony narrowly lost the penalty shoot out 4-3 in dramatic sudden death shoot out.
The Under 14 Colts fought out an incredible 5 all draw against Byron Pumas.
Colts went in three nil at the half with an own goal and MACLEOD and BEVERLEY
Byron scored quickly in the second half before MACLEOD added a fourth for Colony. Remarkably Byron scored four in quick succession to lead 5-4, but SIM secured a 5-5 draw.
Colony Park U13s welcomed Banchory Boys to Inverurie for their second and final meeting this season. In an exciting match GRANT scored to level the match at 1-1, before Banchory took the lead in the second half. The Banchory keeper handled outside his area and was red carded, and BRAILSFORD and MIDDLER gave Colony the lead. Banchory again equalised before MIDLER scored twice to secure his hat-trick and a 5-3 win for Colony. Colony Colts U13s came up against League leaders Insch and District and went down 12-0.
