Colony Park Juniors got back to winning ways when they won away from home against Parkvale.
The opening period of the match was dominated by Parkvale who forced four corners in the opening ten minutes. However the Colony defence remained resolute and in 21 minutes Colony Park took the lead. An excellent cross from Pugh was missed by the Vale keeper and Calvin RODDIE was on hand to head in at the back post to put Colony in front against the run of play.
In 33 minutes Parkvale almost equalized but the shot was blocked for a corner. A minute later Vale did score with Sim well beaten by a shot from their striker to make the score 1-1. In 37 minutes Sim brought off a brilliant save to ensure the sides remained level. Parkvale continued to be on top through to the interval but there were no further goals.
Parkvale started the brighter following the break and six minutes into the half they had a great chance to take the lead when their striker headed wide in a good position. Colony came back with chances for Dorrat and Crosbie while Keir had a good shot turned for a corner.
Substitute Crosbie put in a great cross from a free kick and Kevin BONARIUS scored with his first touch to put Colony Park in the lead.
A couple of minutes later in a move involving Bonarius, Dorrat and Keir, Colony increased their lead when Greg DORRAT placed the ball into the net.
Colony were now on top and in 64 minutes were awarded a penalty when Keir was brought down in the box. Calvin RODDIE scored from the spot to give Colony a 4-1 lead. Parkvale pulled one back near the end of the match.
This was a good win for Colony Park against a Parkvale side who can consider themselves unlucky to lose by a two goal margin.
