Peterhead’s Clerkhill Primary School were finalists at the recent Lloyds TSB Scotland National Fun Fours festival at Edinburgh’s Meggetland Sports Complex.

Mopre than 160 boys and girls from 23 schools across Scotland attended the event having successfully qualified from a series of regional heats from as far afield as Stranraer and Peterhead. 168 schools and over 230 teams took part in the overall programme.

Spectators were treated to a fantastic display of skill and energy from the talented youngsters as they played out as many as seven games in a 3 group format.

There was an added bonus to proceedings when Derek Wintour and Marianne MacDonald of Action for Children accepted a cheque for £1000 from Scottish Schools’ FA Vice President Gordon Pate and Lloyds TSB Scotland’s Daniel Gibb.

The monies were generously raised by all participating schools in the Fun Fours programme.

Daniel Gibb, Bank Manager at Lloyds TSB Scotland Gorgie, who was at the finals said: “Congratulations to all today’s participants for reaching the Lloyds TSB Scotland Fun Fours Festival.

“It’s a great achievement for those involved to represent their respective regions, especially given the high number of schools who took part.”
